Momma and Daddy get Astrid’s Room Ready

Well the wall paint and chair rail and decorations on the chair rail are complete!  We still need to put up her other wall decorations and I am sure I will have to buy more, wash all her clothes and put them away, and wash the sheets and put the nursery all together!

It was so crazy what we did.  I don’t think we realized how time consuming it would be, but I can guarantee she has the most stylish nursery on the block.  We painted the walls utterly pink on the top and lilac whisper on the bottom.  Zac installed a chair rail so we could put all the flowers and butterflies on that instead of the wall.  I found all the flowers and butterflies at Michaels, took off the pegs and screws, filled the holes with wood putty and sanded, and I painted everyone of them.  It took forever to paint them.  Mainly because the first paint I bought sucked and I had to get new paint.  It would have taken 50 coats of paint to look good.  Plus it took me a while to figure out what colors I wanted to use.  After that was all settled and all was painted, we realized that even though he measured the room correctly he forgot to use all the measurements to determine the amount of flowers and butterflies we needed, so we had to buy and paint more!  But Zac helped me and we removed the pegs and screws and filled in the holes with putty one night and painted them all the rest!  It didn’t take long for us to put the flowers and butterflies up on the wall.  I have to say it looks super cute!  It was bittersweet since Zac got to use the saw his Dad bought him for the first time.  It was only right that it was for his grandbaby girl.  We were both just so overcome with emotion getting everything ready.  I will be 34 weeks on Friday and we are both hoping that I will deliver on October 9th, which would have been his Dad’s next birthday.  I will be a day before 37 weeks and at full term so it will be completely safe!  Who knows if it will happe, but it would be great and amazing.  He held out as long as he could to meet his first granddaughter.  But we both know that he is in heaven and she has an extra angel looking out for her.  So it would only be fitting she could share that special day with him.  But knowing my daughter, already rebellious in the womb, she will come on her own terms.  Well, she is like her momma and dad after all!  I will upload more pics as the room gets completed.  Hopefully it will be all the way done soon!!!
